As a Dutch-German retired couple, we emigrated to Cyprus a few years ago. 

Cyprus has, for such a tiny Mediterranean island, a fascinating culinary history and culture. Because of its position at the crossroads of three continents, it’s been ruled by many empires. 

The cuisine of the Republic of Cyprus features many elements of the healthy Mediterranean diet. But it’s also influenced by Greek, Turkish, Arabic, African and European ingredients and culinary traditions. All have had an influence on the traditional food of Cyprus.

The unknown was the main reason for us to create the site Cyprus: kebab, fish & souvlaki.
